Dr. Christie Law

Dr. Christie Law was born and raised in Calgary. She graduated from the University of Calgary with a BSc in Manufacturing Engineering in 2008. However, it was her love of health care that led her to pursue her path in optometry. Upon graduating at The Illinois College of Optometry in 2012, Dr. Law moved back to her hometown of Calgary for a year before life brought her to St. John’s, Newfoundland. For five years, Dr. Law worked closely with ophthalmology in amultidiscipline private practice, co-managing various ocular disease, refractive surgery, extreme dry eye disease, and primary care patients. In 2018, Dr. Law moved to Ottawa, where she was proud to practice alongside amazing optometrists in a busy clinic.

Although grateful to have had the opportunity to practice optometry throughout Canada, Dr. Law is truly happy to be back home in Calgary as of 2019. She is excited to connect to the community at Old Street Optometry and welcomes new patients! Dr. Law is passionate about providing informative eyecare that engages patients to take an active role in understanding their ocular health.

Dr. Christie Law is the proud mother to a sweet and adventurous baby girl. In her spare time she loves to bake pies, run, and hike with her family.

OUR DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT

qUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR EYE HEALTH? WE'RE HERE TO HELP

HOLY BROW! Eye don’t mean to lash out and create a spectacle, but what’s with all the puns???

Some serious talk for a minute.  We’d like to eyelight some truly eyeballing behaviour.  You know what we mean.  It’s scarcely possible to see the eye doctor anymore without encountering at least one pun so bad it makes you want to cry.  And this trend is spreading like an iris as far as the eye can see!

For example, you may have noticed optometrists going out of their way to chse words they can spell with glasses – could there be any lower hanging frt?  Trends like these are starting to lk a little worse for stare.  And it reflects prly on the whole industry.  After all, we’re only as strong as our weakest blink.

One or two is okay, but too many puns make patients question whether the doctor really cares or has coned it in and is just going view the motions.  If you want a change of seenery, look no further!  You won’t eye-spy any eye-puns at this clinic.  No sir-eye bob.  We derive our specs appeal from not blurring the line between cornea jokes and professional compeyetance.

As the seeing goes, there’s a perception to every rule.  And when it comes to your glasses, lk no further than Old Street Optometry for a pun-free eyecare experience.  As our doctor says: “That’s just how eye roll!”
